 About The Association
Mission Statement
To contribute to the development of a community of professionals equipped with high level of expertise who are sincerely committed to ethical values and perceive competition as offering better products and services to investors with the ultimate aim of contributing to the development of the national economy and the capital markets.
Aims

  • Contribute to the development of the capital markets and intermediation activities,
  • Facilitate solidarity among its members,
  • Safeguard the prudent and disciplined conduct of business by its members,
  • Prevent unfair competition among its members,
  • Enhance professional know-how in the sector.

Duties
  • Conduct research and offer educational programs,
  • Establish professional rules and regulations,
  • Set safety measures aimed at preventing unfair competition,
  • Cooperate with relevant organizations with the objective of imposing disciplinary action,
  • Monitor professional developments, changes in rules and regulations and inform its members,
  • Assist in the resolution of disputes arising from off-exchange transactions among its members or between its members and investors,
  • Determine the principles on commissions and fees charged by its members and propose these to the Capital Market Board,
  • Evaluate complaints against its members and inform the Board on the results,
  • Cooperate with related foreign institutions.

Organization Structure


Departments

Compliance and Legal Affairs

  • Makes necessary investigations to assist in the resolution of disputes arising from off-exchange transactions among its members or between its members and investors.
  • Investigates and reports the discipline files in accordance with the Discipline Rules and Regulations.
  • Provides legal advisory services to other departments, General Secretariat and the Board of Directors.
  • Conducts necessary legal investigations about the applications and complaints made to the Association.
  • Prepares the drafts of the Internal Regulations of the Association and makes proposals for changes in the existing Regulations.
  • Conducts research on legal matters and the Capital Market Law.
  • Monitors professional developments, changes in rules and regulations and informs its members.  

Research and Statistics  

  • Identifies the problems of the capital markets and provides solution proposals.
    carries out studies in assisting opinion or policy formation by the Association when requested by official institutions.
  • Publishes research studies to enhance the development of the capital markets.
  • Follows the developments in the international capital markets and informs its members.
  • Represents the Association at national and international commissions on capital markets.

Information Technology 

  • Develops the information technology strategies of the Association.
  • Plans and implements the strategies.
  • Gathers statistical data on the capital market operations of the members and produces periodical reports.

Training and Public Relations 

  • Prepares training programs to meet the needs of the Association members.
  • Organizes national and international meetings, seminars and conferences.
  • Manages media correspondence and public relations.
  • Promotes activities of the Association.

Licensing and Record Keeping

  • Issues licenses to the employees of the Association members.
  • Keeps records of the license renewals and licensed professionals.

Administrative and Financial Affairs 

  • Manages the administrative, accounting and personnel operations of the Association.
  • Follows the payment of membership subscriptions.
  • Handles the communication among the Association and third parties and keeps the correspondence archive.
Participations

GIP
Developing Companies Markets Inc. was created in 2005 for establishing an exchange especially for high growth, small and medium sized companies. TSPAKB has 5% stake and holds one seat at the board of directors.

CRA
Central Registry Agency Inc. established in 2001 is responsible for registering capital market instruments & rights attached thereon in electronic form with respect to issuers, intermediary institutions and owner of rights. Moreover, it manages and represents the Investors' Protection Fund. TSPAKB has 5% stake and holds one seat at the board of directors.

TurkDEX
The Turkish Derivatives Exchange located in İzmir is the first private exchange in Turkey.  TSPAKB has 6% stake and holds two seats at the board of directors.

DOMESTIC
DEİK

Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) was formed in 1988 according to the Law on The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, and Chambers and Exchanges, in order to foster the private sector's foreign economic relations. Our association became member of the Board in 2008 as "founding institution".


IKV

Economic Development Foundation was established on the initiative of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and Istanbul Chamber of Industry in 1965, in order to inform the Turkish business world and the public about developments in the European Union (EU) and Turkey-EU relations. Our Association became an affiliate member of this Foundation in 2003.

INTERNATIONAL
ASF
Asia Securities Forum was established in 1995 to exchange views and information among the securities industry in the Asia-Pacific region with the goal of contributing to the development of securities markets and economic growth in the region. The members are mainly representatives of securities dealers associations or securities companies in the Asia-Pacific region. Our Association became a member of the Forum in 2009.

AFIE

The primary objective of the AFIE, which is the Asia Pacific body for the International Forum for Investor Education (IFIE), is to facilitate investor education and information exchange in the Asia-Pacific region. Our Association became a founding member of the Forum in 2010.


FEAS
Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges was established in 1995. The members mainly comprise of stock exchanges, central settlement and custody institutions. Our Association became an affiliate member of the Federation in 2009.

ICSA

International Council of Securities Associations is an organization, which represents trade associations and self-regulatory associations for the capital market. The Council was established in 1988 with the aim of contributing the development of the capital markets by coordinating the member associations. Our Association became a member of the Council in 2006. 

IFIE
International Forum for Investor Education was created in 2005 as an independent entity. Its goal is to improve investor education on a worldwide basis; provide investors to make informed choices about financial products and investments. Self regulatory institutions, regulators and non-profit organizations are members of the Forum. TSPAKB became a member of IFIE in 2009.


IOSCO

International Organization of Securities Commissions was created in 1983 to promote high standards of regulation in order to maintain just, efficient and sound capital markets; through an effective collaboration between capital markets regulatory and supervisory authorities. TSPAKB became an affiliate member of the organization in 2003.
